Here's a three-step guide:

Back up and clear WhatsApp: First, back up your WhatsApp messages (if desired) and then remove all user data from the standard WhatsApp app. Reinstalling the app is another option.

/sdcard/WhatsAppdirectory to/sdcard/OGWhatsApp. An Android file manager can do this, but it's often easier from a Windows PC. -
Verify your numbers: Verify your original number in OGWhatsApp, then verify your new number in the regular WhatsApp app.
