Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: How to Access Your Snap Recap

Looking back on the past year is easier than ever with the help of various apps. Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature offers a fun, personalized way to revisit your 2024 memories.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike similar year-end recaps from platforms like Spotify or Twitch, the Snap Recap doesn't focus on detailed statistics. Instead, it curates a highlight reel of your year, showcasing a single snap from each month. This lighthearted approach offers a nostalgic journey through your 2024 Snapchat activity, without the pressure of confronting potentially embarrassing statistics. The recap seamlessly transitions into other Memories features, allowing you to explore flashbacks from previous years.

Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. Simply swipe up from the main camera screen to open Memories (avoid pressing the shutter button). The Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the video to view your recap. After a brief introductory screen, you'll see a slideshow of your selected snaps, one for each month. While the recap plays automatically, you can tap the screen to advance through it more quickly. You can save, edit, or share your recap just like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why You Might Not Have a Recap

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't yet visible, don't worry. Snapchat states that the rollout is gradual, and yours may simply not be ready. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is generated. Infrequent Snapchat usage may also explain its absence. Unfortunately, Snapchat support currently doesn't allow users to request a recap if one hasn't been automatically created.
