AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT: Official Confirmation Revealed

May 26,25

AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, building on the success of the RX 9070 XT released earlier in March. While details are scarce, this new mid-range graphics card promises some compelling features for budget-conscious gamers.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is equipped with 32 Compute Units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, making it a strong contender for 1080p gaming. Given its smaller size, the card boasts a lower Total Board Power (TBP) of 150-182W compared to the RX 9070 XT. With half the Compute Units and power consumption of its predecessor, the RX 9060 XT is expected to be significantly less powerful but potentially more affordable. Unfortunately, AMD has not yet disclosed any pricing or release date information.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

While the lack of pricing information from AMD is frustrating, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is likely to be priced competitively with the Intel Arc B580 and the recently launched RTX 5060, which both fall in the $250-$300 range. With power budgets of 145W and 190W respectively, these GPUs target the same market segment as the RX 9060 XT.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT finally hits the market, budget gamers will have three viable options from different manufacturers. However, if AMD keeps the RX 9060 XT within the $300 price range, it could have a significant advantage: it's the only card in this segment offering 16GB of VRAM, compared to 8GB from Nvidia and 12GB from Intel.

While I'll need to test the RX 9060 XT in the lab to confirm its performance, the larger frame buffer could give it a longer lifespan as games become more demanding on video memory. The final pricing of the RX 9060 XT remains to be seen, but it's shaping up to be a budget GPU worth watching closely.
