Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Reveals Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. This departure from their usual third-person action and RTS titles promises a fresh experience for fans.

Initially unveiled during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall generated considerable buzz, particularly its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer provides a more detailed look at the game's world and mechanics.

The trailer establishes the game's setting: a post-apocalyptic England reminiscent of titles like Fallout and STALKER. Players explore quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers, scavenging resources to survive encounters with robots, cultists, and perilous environments.

Combat blends melee and ranged options. While the trailer showcases a limited arsenal (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), it highlights weapon upgrade systems and hints at a broader selection within the game world. Resource management is key, allowing players to craft healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials.

Character progression involves acquiring and utilizing training manuals to unlock skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.

Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (and available on Xbox Game Pass from launch), Atomfall promises a compelling survival experience. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned for further updates.
