Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

May 27,25

Bandai Namco is once again venturing into the mobile gaming realm with Digimon Alysion, a digital rendition of the beloved Digimon Card Game. Set to launch on both Android and iOS platforms as a free-to-play title, the exact release date remains undisclosed. The announcement came during Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also unveiled exciting updates, including a new arc for Digimon Liberator in April 2025. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, a special video was released, and new projects like Digimon Adventure: Beyond and the console and PC RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, were introduced.

If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same

Digimon Alysion is not merely a digital clone of the physical card game; it introduces innovative 'DigiAly' cards in addition to the original cards tailored for this digital version. Bandai Namco is also enhancing the game with new Digimon and characters. The character roster on the website features an all-female cast, which is a unique choice for a digital card game and has sparked some skepticism among fans expecting a more traditional adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile games, and their previous attempts have met with mixed success. With two failed mobile games under their belt, there's a cautious anticipation surrounding Digimon Alysion. Despite the hesitations, I'm eagerly awaiting its release. A closed beta test is on the horizon, though specifics are still under wraps. For the latest updates, keep an eye on their official website or follow their X account.
