Black Ops 6 Infection and Nuketown Modes Coming This Week
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Receives Classic Modes and Map Updates
Following its recent release, Black Ops 6 is adding two highly anticipated game modes and a fan-favorite map. This news comes alongside an update addressing various post-launch issues.
Infection and Nuketown Arrive This Week
Treyarch Studios announced via Twitter (X) that the popular "Infected" mode will launch tomorrow, followed by the iconic Nuketown map on November 1st. Infected pits players against AI-controlled zombies, while Nuketown, a map originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), offers a classic multiplayer experience set in a 1950s nuclear test site. This expansion on the initial launch content (which included 11 standard multiplayer modes, four alternate modes without Scorestreaks, and a Hardcore mode) reflects Activision's commitment to regular post-launch content updates.
Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Numerous Bugs
A recent update addressed several issues impacting both multiplayer and Zombies modes. Key improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in various game modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). Activision stated that they are actively monitoring XP rates across all modes. The patch also resolved several bugs:
- Global: Fixed loadout highlighting, Bailey's animation in the Operators menu, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to leave the designated play areas in Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also enhanced.
- Multiplayer: Resolved matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, fixed a Private Match forfeit bug, and addressed a continuous missile sound effect in Scorestreaks.
While some issues, such as player deaths during loadout selection in Search & Destroy, remain to be addressed, the developers (Treyarch and Raven Software) are actively working on further patches. Despite these minor post-launch hiccups, Black Ops 6 is considered by many to be a top-tier Call of Duty title, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
