Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update introduces an exciting new chapter to the game, complete with swordfighting battles and unique challenges set in a Japanese winter hot spring. Expect a bit of monkey mischief too—it's both amusing and chaotic.

BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training

The Onsen Training update introduces three new characters to the fray. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, can be obtained through the pickup draw, making them playable characters. Meanwhile, Blade remains exclusive to the narrative.

Set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden's Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story unfolds over 30 battles, split between 15 normal and 15 challenge modes. The story kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who, after a devastating defeat at the hands of a new student named Justia, seeks to restore her honor. Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring, rumored to boost physical strength, but her plans are thrown into disarray by the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.

Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate, rescues Ventana but turns down her request for training. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who offers to help Ventana win Blade's mentorship.

There’s a New Mini-Game

The update also features a new mini-game called Onsen Tile Tactics, where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story is divided into phases, starting with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating with Beyond Legend in the third week.

Players will face both returning and new bosses throughout the event. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, while the third week introduces the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a massive monkey that grows stronger when targeting enemies with damage-over-time effects. Additionally, the Guild Raid boss, Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no elemental properties, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and demands a high number of chain stacks to defeat.

Players can also collect new gear and costumes. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
