Earlier this year, Xbox president Sarah Bond revealed plans for a mobile store. Now, it seems an Xbox Android app with exciting new features is almost here – possibly as early as next month!

Reports suggest the Xbox mobile app will debut in November. Android users will be able to purchase and play games directly through the app. This news was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Sarah Bond herself. She highlighted how a recent court ruling will allow the Google Play Store to offer more choices and greater flexibility.
This ruling stems from Google's four-year antitrust battle with Epic Games. The court mandated that Google provide rival app stores access to its complete app catalog and distribute third-party stores for three years (November 1st, 2024 to November 1st, 2027), unless individual developers opt out.
Why This New Xbox App Matters
While an existing Xbox Android app allows game downloads to Xbox consoles and cloud game streaming for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, the November update introduces direct game purchasing within the app.
