Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th

Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for a substantial 75 days, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.

While specifics regarding Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. The exceptionally successful launch of Black Ops 6, boasting record player numbers in its first month, has recently seen a downturn, attributed to issues such as cheating in Ranked Play and ongoing server problems. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game's player base with fresh content and improvements.

Season 2 Launch Confirmed

Treyarch's confirmation of the January 28th launch date came via a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While some fixes were postponed for Season 2, the studio explicitly stated the new season's arrival. A detailed blog post unveiling the full Season 2 content is expected soon.

Season 1 delivered a wealth of new content, including multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events, significantly impacting Warzone with a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The return of beloved maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4 further enhanced the experience.

Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, although they've emphasized a focus on original content. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering.
