1954's *Crime SuspenStories #22* stands as a landmark in the world of horror comics, notorious and iconic in equal measure. Even if the title doesn't immediately come to mind, the chilling image of a man wielding an ax and clutching his wife's severed head is unforgettable. This issue played a pivotal role in sparking the anti-comics sentiment of the 1950s, leading to the establishment of the Comics Code Authority and ultimately contributing to the downfall of EC Comics.

In a thrilling revival, EC Comics has risen from the ashes under the Oni Press imprint. It's only fitting that their latest release honors the infamous cover art by Johnny Craig from *Crime SuspenStories #22*. *Catacomb of Torment* is one of several new titles launching under EC Comics' "Summer of Fear" campaign. This horror anthology series boasts contributions from acclaimed creators such as John Arcudi, Marguerite Bennett, Dan McDaid, Matt Kindt, David Lapham, and Tonči Zonjić. Alongside it, fans can look forward to *Blood Type* by Corinna Bechko and Andrea Sorrentino, and *Cruel Universe 2* featuring J. Holtham, Kano, Ann Nocenti, David Rubín, and Greg Smallwood.
