Director Finds It "Intriguing"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has led Sandfall Interactive to consider a Switch 2 release. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio’s next steps following the game’s strong debut.

He noted that the game’s achievements have reshaped their plans, stating, "The success of the game has opened new doors for us."

When asked about a potential Switch 2 version, Broche revealed the team is evaluating several opportunities. "It’s early days, but we’re seeing a flood of possibilities—almost too many—and we’re carefully deciding which to pursue. A Switch 2 release is definitely something that could be exciting," he said.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 launch on the horizon, it seems fitting for the year’s top-rated game to join the new handheld console. Fans will need to wait to see if the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG will arrive on Nintendo’s next device.

Official Merchandise Still in the Works

Sandfall Interactive is facing a surge of requests, including demand for official merchandise featuring the beloved character Esquie. The studio cautioned fans about unofficial plushies sold online, stating in a May 14 Twitter (X) post, "No third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are officially licensed."

They warned that many of these unauthorized items use AI-generated artwork and could be scams. However, Sandfall is actively exploring the creation of official Esquie plushies.

The studio’s post added, "Good news: we’re working on official Esquie plushies and aim to deliver them soon. Please be patient and avoid scams in the meantime!"
