Code Geass Ends Mobile Journey!

Dec 12,24

The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is closing its doors to global mobile players. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means no more logins after that date, and the official global social media will also be deactivated.

Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023—a short lifespan indeed. Downloads and purchases are already unavailable, marking a swift end to its international run.

The Reason for Closure:

Although no official reason was given, the game's low download numbers and less-than-stellar global reviews likely contributed significantly to its closure. Many anime gacha games struggle outside Japan due to lower player spending and engagement. The game's blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while potentially appealing, wasn't enough to overcome these challenges in the global market.

Japanese players can still access the game via the Google Play Store. For those looking for other gaming news, check out the latest on Sky: Children of the Light's Tournament of Triumph!
