A Night City Reunion?

Idris Elba recently expressed his strong interest in a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation featuring himself and Keanu Reeves. In a ScreenRant interview promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (where he and Reeves share the screen), Elba stated that a Cyberpunk live-action film would be incredible, particularly with their characters together. He described the potential pairing as "Whoa," suggesting a powerful on-screen dynamic.

Reeves, of course, portrayed the iconic Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, while Elba played Solomon Reed in the Phantom Liberty expansion.

This isn't just wishful thinking. Variety reported in October 2023 that a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project is underway, with CD Projekt Red collaborating with Anonymous Content. While details remain scarce, the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and The Witcher live-action series suggests a Cyberpunk adaptation is highly plausible.

More Cyberpunk on the Horizon

Beyond the live-action possibility, the Cyberpunk universe continues to expand. A prequel manga to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS, has launched, focusing on Rebecca and Pilar before joining Maine's crew. The manga is currently available in several languages, with an English release expected. A Blu-ray release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is also planned for 2025.
