Undertale creator Toby Fox recently provided an update on the testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. Console testing is progressing smoothly, though much work remains.

Deltarune's Console Testing: Smooth Sailing Ahead

Toby Fox, via his Bluesky account, shared that console testing is ongoing. While bugs are decreasing, extensive testing continues, with PS5 testing yet to begin. Importantly, the team is working on a feature to carry over save data from Chapters 1 and 2 (the demo) to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4 on consoles. This exciting feature is newly possible thanks to recently acquired technology. "I hope it works!" Fox added.

With beta testing progressing well, a release date may be imminent. Fox has confirmed a 2025 release for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4.

A New Character Emerges: Tenna

Amidst the development, Fox shared a humorous anecdote. He showed family and friends a minigame he's creating, which they interpreted as a "cry for help" due to the game's delayed release. While his family found this positive, a friend's reaction involved ten minutes of laughter.

This minigame's purpose is uncertain, sparking speculation it might be for Chapter 5 (the game is planned for seven chapters). Interestingly, Fox mentioned a fan's nostalgic comment about a character named Tenna, a character previously unseen except during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for Child's Play charity in September 2022. Fox's comment confirms Tenna's appearance in Chapter 3.

Deltarune, a spiritual successor to Undertale, retains familiar mechanics while introducing a new story and characters. Players follow Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on a world-saving adventure.
