"Deltarune's Switch 2 Exclusive Feature Revealed in Secret Room"
Deltarune, the eagerly awaited RPG by Toby Fox, is set to offer exclusive features on the Nintendo Switch 2, unveiled during the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2. The Switch 2 version will not only include Chapters 3 and 4 but also introduce some innovative gameplay elements tailored specifically for the next-gen console.
Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2
One of the standout features of the Switch 2 version is a unique room designed to utilize the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Toby Fox shared in a Fangamer newsletter, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!" This exclusive feature promises to offer a fresh gameplay experience that leverages the advanced capabilities of the new console.
For those playing on non-Switch 2 devices, the special room will still be accessible, but with an alternative control scheme. Moreover, players can seamlessly transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a smooth transition for returning fans.
Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free
Toby Fox has also clarified the pricing for Deltarune, setting it at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, along with the newly released Chapters 3 and 4. Initially, Chapter 1 was released in 2018 and Chapter 2 in 2021, both free of charge. It was previously announced that future chapters (3-5) would be paid content. However, in a delightful turn of events, Fox has announced that all upcoming chapters will be added as free updates. This means that purchasing the game once will grant players access to the entire saga without additional costs. Fox expressed his hope, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."
In addition to the game, the Deltarune soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Future chapters will also see their soundtracks added for free, enhancing the value of the purchase. Deltarune aims to deliver a comprehensive and rewarding experience, ensuring that every penny spent feels justified by the wealth of free content and updates.
DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 are scheduled to release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates on Deltarune by checking out our related articles below!
