Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Leaks Before PlayStation Showcase

May 21,25

A new Digimon video game titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger has seemingly been leaked through GameStop, just ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.

The leak was first spotted and shared by Gematsu, which provided store links allowing interested players to pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The GameStop listings currently lack any images or gameplay details, but with the imminent State of Play event, more official information might soon be revealed.

This leak comes only hours before Sony's latest State of Play presentation, which is set to feature 40 minutes of content. Given the timing of the pre-order listings and the event's duration, it wouldn't be surprising to see Digimon Story: Time Stranger featured in some capacity during the show.

The Digimon Story series has a long history, starting with the original Digimon Story for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, numerous sequels and spin-offs have been released across various platforms. Notable recent entries include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015) and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), with a Complete Edition bundling both titles released in 2019.

In these games, players enter the Digimon universe to befriend and battle with digital monsters in RPG-style gameplay. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new installment. Although Digimon Survive helped bridge the gap, the anticipation for a true sequel like Digimon Story: Time Stranger could soon be fulfilled if it officially launches.
