Dynasty Warriors: Origins wisely avoids this pitfall. Instead of an open world, it offers a condensed overworld map of ancient China. Players navigate this smaller map to access towns for shopping, inns for resting, and NPCs for side quests and story progression. While this overworld map is functional, it's far less expansive than a true open world, allowing for a more focused and streamlined gameplay experience. Fast travel is available, but the map's small size renders it largely unnecessary.
