As you’d expect, EA is keenly interested in the Nintendo Switch 2 as a platform for its games. In a recent financial call, CEO Andrew Wilson was directly asked about Nintendo’s next-generation console, and he hinted at plans to bring many of EA's titles to the platform.

Wilson specifically mentioned EA's lucrative sports franchises, Madden and FC, as having potential to thrive on the Nintendo Switch 2. He also highlighted The Sims as a game that could perform well on the console.

"Anytime a new console enters the marketplace, it's beneficial for us as it allows us to reach and engage new players," Wilson stated. "Our franchises have historically done well on Nintendo platforms, and we anticipate that games like FC, Madden, and others could find significant traction on the Switch 2, just as they have in the past.

"Consider The Sims and the My Sims cozy bundle, which exceeded our expectations by attracting 50% new players to EA. This represents a tremendous opportunity for us.

"While we haven’t included this in our current models, we expect that whenever a great new console hits the market, offering access to new players and communities, our intellectual property will capitalize on that."

Now that Nintendo has announced the Switch 2, the gaming community is piecing together what to anticipate in terms of game offerings. A variety of third-party titles are rumored to be in development for the console. In an interview with IGN, the developer of Civilization 7, Firaxis, expressed interest in the Switch 2’s rumored Joy-Con mouse mode. French video game and accessories maker Nacon, known for titles like Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, and RoboCop: Rogue City, has confirmed it has games ready for the Switch 2. Additionally, the much-anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong is rumored to be headed to the Switch 2.

As for Nintendo's own lineup, a new Mario Kart game is in the works, with more details expected to be revealed at a Nintendo Direct in April.
