In Limbus Company, the levels of your Sinners are crucial in determining their combat effectiveness. Just like in other RPGs, you'll need to focus on leveling up your team to tackle the game's challenges and progress through the content.

Even the most powerful Sinner Identities won't stand a chance against enemies if they're underleveled. For newcomers to the game, here's a quick guide on the best ways to earn XP for your characters.

With exciting titles like Ananta and Neverness To Everness on the horizon, I find myself craving a stylish anime game that isn't reliant on gacha mechanics. While HoYoVerse games satisfy my gacha cravings, I yearn for a triple-A experience similar to these games but without the randomness of monetization.

Combat and Grinding --------------------

For new players, the primary way to earn XP is through combat. Every Sinner on your team will gain XP after successfully clearing a combat encounter, whether they participated in the fight or not. However, those who actively fought will earn more XP than those who didn't. This method, typical of many free-to-play gacha games, can be slow, and as battles become tougher, you'll need more efficient ways to level up.

Once you reach the midpoint of Canto 2, you'll unlock Luxcavation mode. This mode allows you to challenge specific enemies for various rewards. While the battles provide a decent amount of XP, the real advantage lies in the consumable items you can obtain, which are invaluable for leveling up.

Using Consumable Items

If you're looking to avoid the grind of manually earning XP to max out your Sinners' Identities, you can use Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets. These consumables are designed specifically for leveling up characters and come in various rarities.

Identity Training Tickets

Identity Training Tickets provide a flat amount of XP to an Identity. They serve as the equivalent of level-up materials found in other gacha games like Honkai Star Rail or Genshin Impact. These tickets can significantly reduce the time spent grinding for XP, but you'll need a substantial number to fully level a single character. They are available in four tiers, each offering increasing amounts of XP:

  • Identity Training Ticket I: 50 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket II: 200 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket III: 1000 Identity XP
  • Identity Training Ticket IV: 3000 Identity XP

You can primarily obtain these tickets by farming the EXP Luxcavation stages. They are also available through the free and paid Limbus Passes, as well as periodic attendance check events.

Level Boost Tickets

Level Boost Tickets instantly elevate your Sinners' Identities to a specific level, bypassing the need for XP. These are far more valuable than Identity Training Tickets due to their ability to act as leveling shortcuts, but they are also much rarer. They can be obtained mainly through the Limbus Pass and occasionally during attendance check events. Unlike training tickets, they cannot be farmed. Different Level Boost Tickets will raise your characters to the following levels:

  • Level Boost Ticket I: Level 10
  • Level Boost Ticket II: Level 20
  • Level Boost Ticket III: Level 30
  • Level Boost Ticket IV: Level 40

As of now, Identities can reach a maximum level of 50. It's wise to balance the use of Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets if you're aiming to level up multiple characters simultaneously.

To use these consumables, navigate to the Sinners menu and long-press the portrait of the character you wish to level up.
