May 28,25

If you're a fan of Elden Ring and enjoy dominating with high Strength builds, wielding colossal weapons, and unleashing devastating jumping and charged attacks, then you'll love the Raider class in Nightreign. Check out the video below for a glimpse of this powerhouse in action.

While the Guardian, another robust class in Nightreign, focuses on defense with its shield and party-wide damage mitigation ultimate, the Raider is tailored for sheer offensive might. The Raider's signature ability, Retaliate, might initially seem modest with its two stomps that deliver physical and poise damage. However, its true strength lies in the Raider's passive ability, which prevents knockback during Retaliate. This feature allows the Raider to absorb incoming attacks while delivering a powerful punch on the second stomp, capable of staggering even the mightiest foes.

The Raider's ultimate, Totem Stela, is equally formidable. By slamming the ground, the Raider summons a large totem that erupts, causing significant area damage. This ultimate not only deals substantial damage but also provides a climbable structure for strategic positioning, offering both a safe haven and a vantage point for you and your teammates. Additionally, it grants a damage buff to everyone nearby, making it an essential tool to coordinate with your team for maximum impact.

Starting with the Raider's Greataxe, which inflicts fire damage and comes equipped with the "Endure" skill, the Raider has a solid foundation for absorbing and countering enemy attacks. However, as you progress through the game, upgrading to larger strength-scaling weapons will enhance your playstyle.

Among all the classes I've tried in Nightreign, the Raider has been the most enjoyable. It excels in one-on-one combat, perfectly aligning with its Remembrances, which involve thrilling gladiatorial arena battles against singular bosses.

Stay tuned throughout the month for more in-depth looks at Nightreign's mechanics, developer interviews, and more as part of IGN First's ongoing coverage.
