Escape Academy, a critically acclaimed escape-room style puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th-23rd, 2025. This marks the fourth free game offered by the EGS in 2025 and, boasting an 80 average score and 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic, is currently their highest-rated free offering of the year.

Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to master escape room puzzles as students at the titular academy. Initially released in July 2022 for PC and consoles, the game has received overwhelmingly positive player reviews across various platforms (Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores). Beyond its solo gameplay, Escape Academy features a highly praised online and split-screen multiplayer mode, solidifying its reputation as a top-tier cooperative puzzle experience.

While previously offered as a free game on the EGS on January 1st, 2024, this giveaway provides players with a full week to claim the title. This is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Escape Academy is slated to leave the service on January 15th, 2025.
