Marvel Contest of Champions is set to introduce a host of thrilling updates and new content in April, highlighted by the arrival of Spider-Woman and another intriguing champion, Lumatrix. Let's delve into what's coming up.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering challenge when she was exposed to uranium as a child, leading to severe illness. Her father, a renowned geneticist, attempted a daring experiment to save her life by injecting her with a serum containing spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the experiment's initial side effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider-like abilities, eventually embracing her destiny as Spider-Woman. Players can welcome this new champion into Marvel Contest of Champions starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman's arrival, another champion, Lumatrix, will make his debut on April 9th. Designed by the Founders, Lumatrix is an elite assassin known for his lethal efficiency and unique light-based powers, making him a formidable addition to the game.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," introduces a gripping storyline. Carina faces dire consequences after an encounter with Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom surprisingly allies with the Fantastic Four. The spread of Chronoserpent corruption adds to the tension, and a new villain, Lotan, emerges as a significant threat.

An exciting new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and will run through May 7th. Black Widow takes the lead in investigating the mysterious Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman to assist in unraveling the mystery.

Dark Phoenix makes a dramatic return in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties." Players are tasked with tracking down champions targeted by Dark Phoenix's bounty to claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also returns, challenging players to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle through for valuable rewards like Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
