Fabled Game Studio Is Making Pirates Outlaws 2, The Sequel To Their Hit Roguelike Deckbuilder

Apr 22,25

Fabled Game Studio is set to launch Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, the eagerly awaited sequel to their 2019 hit, Pirates Outlaws. This roguelike deck-builder promises to deliver an enhanced experience over its predecessor, with a full release slated for 2025 across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.

To give fans a taste of what's to come, Fabled Game is hosting an open beta test on Steam from October 25th to 31st. Mobile enthusiasts might have to wait a bit longer, but if you're eager to embark on another sea-faring adventure, you'll want to know about the exciting updates.

So, What’s New?

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you'll assume the role of a new hero whose story unfolds years after the original game's timeline. This hero begins with premade decks and unique ability cards, setting the stage for a fresh start. But that's just the beginning.

The game introduces companions who bring their own special cards to the mix. Additionally, a new fusion mechanic allows you to collect three identical cards and merge them into a stronger version. An evolution tree now lets you level up your deck, with the freedom to choose your upgrade path. Even so-called "trash cards" can be upgraded, ensuring every card has potential. Relics, previously found after every fight, will now be discovered in markets, after boss battles, or during special events.

Combat gets an overhaul with the new Countdown system, which influences enemy actions. Instead of an End Turn button, you'll now use ReDraw. Additionally, a new armour and shield system adds depth to the strategic gameplay.

Are You Excited For Pirates Outlaws 2?

Despite the new mechanics, the core fun of Pirates Outlaws remains intact. You'll still be deck-building through a roguelike adventure, navigating treacherous seas and battling your way through the Arena and Campaign modes. All the classic elements like ammo management, melee-ranged-skill card combos, curses, and diverse enemy races are preserved.
