Fallout TV Series Season 2 Filming Delayed
Fallout Season 2 Filming Delayed by Southern California Wildfires
Production on the highly anticipated second season of the acclaimed Fallout TV series has been temporarily halted due to the devastating wildfires currently raging across Southern California. The initial filming start date of January 8th has been postponed to January 10th as a precautionary measure.
The Fallout series, a rare successful video game adaptation, garnered significant praise for its first season's faithful recreation of the iconic post-apocalyptic wasteland. This success, coupled with renewed interest in the Fallout game franchise, has generated considerable excitement for the upcoming season.
According to Deadline, the production delay stems from the extensive wildfires that erupted on January 7th, consuming thousands of acres and prompting the evacuation of over 30,000 residents. Although Santa Clarita, the planned filming location, hasn't been directly impacted yet, the prevalent high winds and general regional disruption have led to a filming standstill for various productions, including Fallout and NCIS.
Uncertain Premiere Date
The short, two-day delay may not significantly affect the overall production schedule. However, the unpredictable nature of the ongoing wildfires poses a risk of further delays. Should the fires spread or pose a threat to the filming area, subsequent postponements are possible, ultimately impacting the season's premiere date. While California wildfires are unfortunately common, this marks the first time they've directly impacted Fallout production. The first season was filmed elsewhere, but a substantial tax incentive reportedly lured the show to Southern California.
Season 2 promises to deliver more thrilling adventures, building on the cliffhanger ending of the first season. Speculation points towards a storyline potentially centered around New Vegas. The addition of Macaulay Culkin to the cast in a recurring role further adds to the anticipation, although his character details remain undisclosed. The impact of the wildfires on the overall production timeline, and consequently the release date, remains to be seen.
