How to Stop the Feud in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (Battle of Frogs & Mice Quest Guide)

Mar 17,25

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the persistent feud between Prochek and Olbram threatens to erupt into all-out war during the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" side quest. But you can intervene and bring peace to this ridiculous conflict. Here's how to stop the feud and achieve a more satisfying resolution.

How to Start the Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

This side quest unlocks after completing either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. Finish either quest, and the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" will become available. Simply speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov to initiate the quest. You'll then need to head to the pasture to begin the main event.

Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?

You'll again be forced to choose a side, but there's a better way. To side with Prochek, tell him "Let's get those Zhelejovites!" in Tachov. To side with Olbram, tell him "Let's go and see those Tachovites!" in Zhelejov. During the pasture confrontation, don't try to reconcile them; it'll just start a fight. If you successfully pass a dialogue check during negotiations, one side will retreat, making the battle easier. Winning the fight for either side earns you some groschen.

To achieve a peaceful resolution, speak to Prochek or Olbram before going to the pasture and ask if they're willing to end the feud. Then, travel to Troskowitz and talk to Bailiff Thrush. Select the dialogue option, "You’d finally have some peace."

This requires passing a dialogue check. If successful, you can read the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe's room. If you fail the check, sneak in to read it (save beforehand!). Speak with the scribe and choose, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."

Now, head to the pasture and find three oak trees in a row. Examine the middle tree to discover a nail. You can:

  • Leave it: Splits the pasture equally.
  • West Tree: Gives more land to Tachov.
  • East Tree: Gives more land to Zhelejov.

The choice doesn't significantly impact the outcome, so choose what feels right. After placing the nail, speak with Bailiff Thrush again; he'll agree to end the feud. Finally, speak with Prochek or Olbram to bring them to the pasture, thus ending the conflict peacefully. You'll receive the Master Studies I book as a reward from Bailiff Thrush.

That's how to peacefully resolve the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Check out The Escapist for more game tips and information.
