GTA Departing Netflix Games Soon

Jan 24,25

Netflix Games is losing two classic Grand Theft Auto titles next month. Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be removed from the Netflix Games catalog on December 13th.

Why are these games leaving?

This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games like it does movies and TV shows. The 12-month licensing agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games for these two titles is expiring. A "Leaving Soon" notification will appear in-game before their removal.

What happens after December 13th?

After the removal date, Netflix subscribers will no longer have access to GTA III and Vice City. However, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remains available on the platform. Players wishing to continue their experience can purchase the Definitive Editions of GTA III and Vice City individually for $4.99 each, or the entire trilogy for $11.99 on the Google Play Store.

Future Possibilities?

Unlike previous removals, Netflix is providing advance notice. Interestingly, this occurs despite Netflix gaining significant subscribers in 2023 due to the GTA trilogy. Rumors suggest Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on potential future releases, possibly remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars.
