"Guide to Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds"
Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but capturing them is essential if you want to harvest all their parts. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to capture monsters and gather the necessary tools.
Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward but requires careful timing. The key is to weaken the monster first, then use a trap followed by a Tranq item to secure your catch. Here's how you do it:
First, you need to weaken the monster. Your Palico will alert you when the monster is vulnerable. Additional signs include a skull icon appearing over the monster on your minimap, and the monster itself may start limping or drooling, indicating low HP.
Once the monster is weakened, it's time to set your trap. You can use either a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap. Place the trap on the ground and lure the monster into it. When the monster steps into the trap, it will be immobilized for a brief period. This is your chance to use Tranq Bombs. Typically, one or two Tranq Bombs will suffice to capture the monster. Alternatively, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, depending on your weapon and preferred playstyle.
Successfully capturing a monster will conclude your quest and return you to Base Camp.
How to Get Traps and Tranq Items
While your Palico may occasionally set traps for you, it's wise to bring your own. There are two types of traps available: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and either Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.
For Tranq items, you can craft Tranq Bombs using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. These Tranq Bombs can then be combined with Throwing Knives to create Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to make Tranq Ammo.
That's the complete guide on how to capture monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
