Enforce the Truth for Super Earth This October 31, 2024

The much-anticipated addition to Helldivers 2 arrives just in time for Halloween, as Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony have confirmed that the Truth Enforcers Warbond will be released on October 31, 2024. According to Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead Game Studios’ Social Media and Community Manager, this latest Warbond goes beyond mere cosmetic enhancements—it introduces a comprehensive arsenal upgrade, enabling players to "become one of Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers."

For those new to the concept, Warbonds operate similarly to a live-service game’s battle pass, where players can use earned Medals to unlock specific items. Unlike traditional battle passes, these Warbonds are evergreen, meaning that once you purchase one, you’ll retain access indefinitely, allowing you to unlock its contents at your own pace. The Truth Enforcers Warbond will be available for purchase through the Acquisitions Center in the Destroyer ship’s menu, priced at 1,000 Super Credits.

As detailed on the official PlayStation Blog, the Truth Enforcers Warbond is centered around upholding the Ministry of Truth’s unwavering ideals. Players will have access to a range of cutting-edge weaponry and armor sets designed to help your Helldiver tackle any challenge.

To demonstrate your loyalty to Super Earth, you can equip the new PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol, a versatile sidearm that offers semi-automatic fire for quick responses or charged shots for more significant impact. For situations requiring more firepower, the SMG-32 Reprimand is a fast-firing submachine gun perfect for close-quarters combat. Meanwhile, the SG-20 Halt shotgun provides robust crowd control capabilities, alternating between stun rounds and armor-penetrating flechette rounds.

For those eager to showcase their commitment to Super Earth’s ideals, the Warbond includes two new armor sets: the UF-16 Inspector and the UF-50 Bloodhound. The UF-16 Inspector is a sleek, light armor set featuring white with red accents, ideal for players who prioritize mobility while maintaining a stylish look, complete with the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape. In contrast, the UF-50 Bloodhound is a medium armor set for those preferring durability, adorned with red accents and the "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape. Both sets come equipped with the Unflinching perk, which minimizes the staggering effect from incoming hits.

In addition to these capes, players can unlock various banners and cosmetic patterns for their hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1. The Warbond also introduces the "At Ease" emote, emphasizing the serious nature of the Truth Enforcers within the game’s satirical, militaristic setting.

Moreover, the Warbond introduces the Dead Sprint booster, allowing players to continue sprinting and diving even after their stamina is depleted, albeit at the cost of their health. This high-risk, high-reward feature can be crucial in intense situations where rapid movement is key to survival.

Helldivers 2’s Promising Future Despite Initial Player Base Decline

Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Drops This October 31st

Despite a successful launch earlier this year, which saw a peak of 458,709 concurrent players on Steam (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 experienced a decline in its player base. This drop was largely due to over 177 countries being locked out of the game following Sony’s initial requirement to link Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network. Although Sony later reversed this decision, the game remains inaccessible in those regions.

Following this, the concurrent player count on Steam fell to around 30,000. The August update, Escalation of Freedom, temporarily boosted this number to over 60,000, though it couldn't sustain this surge. Currently, Helldivers 2's Steam concurrent player count hovers just below 40,000.

The release of the Truth Enforcer Warbond holds the potential to rejuvenate the game’s popularity. With the promise of exciting new content showcased in the trailer, it may draw back former players eager to fight for truth, justice, and Super Earth once more.
