Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered enhances its engaging moment-to-moment action gameplay with robust weapon and outfit customization options. You can craft outfits tailored for stealth missions to evade machines or choose others optimized for melee or ranged combat, enhancing your strategic gameplay experience.

At times, you may find yourself wishing to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible within certain constraints, which we'll detail in the guide below.

Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required

The ability to enjoy the effects of two outfits is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, enabling you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while displaying the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of stats.

Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method

To utilize the effects of two outfits, there are specific requirements to keep in mind. The technique discussed here isn't universally applicable to all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of these three:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)

These outfits become accessible only within the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you can't employ this method right at the start of the game. Thankfully, accessing the DLC doesn't require completing the base game first.

How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Banuk Werak Runner

Start by reaching the expansion area, which involves defeating a new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant, identified by a blue Merchant icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept

To acquire the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear as this mission can be demanding. Alternatively, switch to Story mode for an easier completion and quicker access to the outfit.

The process to obtain the Adept version remains the same but is only available in New Game Plus.

Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. Continuing with the Frozen Wilds content is optional at this point.

What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits

First, select and equip your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats using Weaves. After choosing your primary outfit, apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits using the transmog feature. Although these outfits don't add to your stats, they provide an automatic healing effect after taking damage over time.

This approach allows you to maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you opt for the Shield Weaver as your primary outfit, you'll be nearly invincible, as damage is rare. When you do take damage, the healing perk from the Banuk Werak outfits will activate after a short delay.

The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits feature a faster healing activation than the Banuk Werak Runner, making them preferable if available.
