Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery
Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in *The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim*, *Fallout 3*, *Starfield*, and many other titles, has shared a heartfelt message as he recovers from a harrowing health scare. Last week, Johnson was found "barely alive" in his hotel room, an incident that led to his hospitalization and a subsequent coma.
A video of Johnson was posted on a GoFundMe page, which has raised $174,653 to help cover his medical expenses and other bills. In the video, Johnson expressed his gratitude, saying, "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."
Johnson was in Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation. After not appearing at the event, his wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel. Security and emergency medical technicians eventually entered the room and struggled to find a pulse. Johnson recounted the severity of his situation, stating, "Rumors of my demise, well they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here."
He credited his survival to his wife's quick thinking, who had their son call security, leading to his timely medical intervention. Johnson was in a coma for five days and was overwhelmed by the support he received, including the GoFundMe initiative organized by his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife Kim.
Johnson expressed his gratitude to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family during this time, to Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals' parent company, for donating $25,000, and to Bethesda for their public show of support. "You say that I'm your friend. I am," Johnson said to Bethesda. "Always will be. Love you guys."
He also thanked his fans, both those who donated and those who offered support in other ways, saying, "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and having you all hear me then. Cheers."
Johnson's career spans numerous film and television roles, but his video game work is predominantly with Bethesda. His recent roles include Ron Hope in *Starfield*, and he has voiced characters such as Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in *The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion*, three Daedric Princes in *The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind*, Fawkes and Maister Burke in *Fallout 3*, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in *Skyrim*, and Moe Cronin in *Fallout 4*, among others.
