The conversation around potential new projects came during a time of transition for Insomniac Games, as they announced the retirement of their founder and long-time CEO, Ted Price. Schneider shared, "I think back to the Ratchet and Clank film from several years ago. And we kind of got an early start on that. So, of course, we’re interested in that kind of thing. We love Ratchet and Clank in particular."

The 2016 Ratchet and Clank film, while receiving mixed reviews, did not dampen Insomniac's spirit. Now under Sony's wing since their 2019 acquisition, Insomniac is poised to leverage Sony's expertise in successful game adaptations, such as the critically acclaimed The Last of Us series.

Amid these developments, Insomniac's founder and CEO, Ted Price, announced his retirement after an illustrious 30-year career. Price, who spearheaded iconic franchises like "Spyro the Dragon," "Ratchet & Clank," and "Marvel’s Spider-Man," reflected on his decision, saying, "I actually made this decision last year. For me, after over 30 years of leading Insomniac, I felt it was simply time to step aside and let others pave the way for our team."

The reins of the company are being handed over to three seasoned Insomniac veterans, Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern, and Jen Huang, who will serve as Co-Studio Heads. Price emphasized the importance of this transition, stating, "I believe strongly that for us to continue our success, we need leaders at the top who are intimately familiar with how we do things, leaders who have helped build our culture and our processes, and who have earned people’s trust."
