There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

As inZOI gears up for its early access release, fans are eager to understand the inclusion of certain features, particularly those related to sex and nudity. During an "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session on inZOI’s official Discord, three team leads, with insights translated by Assistant Director Joel Lee, addressed these queries.

The session covered various aspects of the game's realism, from baby care to driving mechanics. However, the topic of explicit content, especially sex and nudity, was a focal point. Lee provided a safe-for-work explanation, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game where it's clear what's happening—the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. The visual representation, however, is left to the player's imagination. You see what's happening, but it's not explicitly shown. Is that clear? It's there, sort of. Maybe not as detailed as some might expect."

This response confirms the presence of a sex feature in the game, albeit with toned-down animations to appeal to a broader audience. Given inZOI's focus on realism, fans can anticipate a more nuanced approach compared to the more animated style seen in games like The Sims.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Curious players inquired about the unusual sight of Zois showering with towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, commonly used in cartoonish games like The Sims, clash with inZOI's more realistic art style. Attempting to use these effects made the scenes appear more suggestive than intended.

Furthermore, during testing, a bug caused Zois to appear fully naked in mirror reflections, bypassing the visual effects. The development team diligently worked to resolve this issue to maintain the game's intended visual standards.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite discussions about explicit content, inZOI has received a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment.
