LEGO Announces a Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set That’s Over 3 Feet Long
LEGO's newest Jurassic World offering is its largest yet: a magnificent T-Rex skeleton spanning over three feet in length! This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, perfectly recreating the scene in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, this collector's item will be available on the LEGO Store starting March 12th for LEGO Insiders (free signup available here) and March 15th for everyone else.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders) Price: $249.99 Pieces: 3,145 Ages: 18+ Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This 3,145-piece set is designed for adult builders (18+), ideal for display rather than active play. The advanced building techniques might prove challenging for younger builders. Its impressive scale is hard to grasp from images alone; the inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures helps, but the finished model truly stretches over three feet long. The skull is remarkably similar to the currently available LEGO T-Rex skull set (which my son built and looks fantastic!), but the complete skeleton elevates the overall impact.

The articulated joints of the skeleton allow for dynamic posing. The head moves, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail are fully posable. Like many movie-themed LEGO sets, it incorporates several fun Easter eggs to discover during construction. A display stand and an informative plaque detailing the T-Rex's diet, habitat, and more are also included.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the scale of LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter, its rapid growth is exciting. I, for one, hope to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-Rex skeleton in the future.
