The acclaimed French studio Don't Nod, known for their work on *Life is Strange*, has unveiled the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Players can now immerse themselves in *Tape 1*, with *Tape 2* set to be released for free to all purchasers on April 15.

Announced back in 2023, this game delves into the story of a tight-knit group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the spectral remnants of that fateful summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and chilling repercussions on the group.

Drawing heavily from classics like *It*, *Yellowjackets*, and *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, the game expertly weaves together elements of nostalgia and psychological suspense. The developers have decided to release the game in two distinct parts: *Bloom* and *Rage*. As of today, February 18, players can explore the first installment of this eerie narrative.

The second part, aptly named "The Tape," is slated for release on April 15. Initially planned for a March launch, the delay aims to deliver a more refined gaming experience to the eager audience.

With the review embargo now lifted, *OpenCritic* reports an average critic score of 74/100, signifying a promising debut for this enthralling mystery game.
