Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair competitive advantage provided by increased control precision and retained aim assist.

NetEase employs sophisticated detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions upon detection. The company states that such devices create an uneven playing field, particularly in competitive game modes.

Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While less noticeable at lower pings, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can severely impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining an FPS around 90 for optimal performance, a strategy that may differ from typical high-FPS gaming approaches.
