Build A Rocket Boy, the studio behind MindsEye, has unveiled a new trailer, set a $59.99 price point, and outlined the game’s content for its upcoming launch.

Led by Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy announced that MindsEye will launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Here’s the official description:

In the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye offers a gripping linear story campaign. Players control Jacob Diaz, a former soldier grappling with fractured memories from his enigmatic MindsEye neural implant, as he unravels a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate corruption, an unchecked military, and a dire threat to humanity’s survival. The game’s narrative is enhanced by cutting-edge visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Notably, MindsEye includes a PC-exclusive game creation system, allowing players to craft unique experiences using the game’s assets.

The studio highlighted the $59.99 price as a “welcome shift from the typical $70-$80 AAA pricing model.” So, what’s included for $60?

At launch, players will enjoy a “finely crafted linear story campaign,” a “single-player free roam” mode, and various missions, including a horde mode called “Destruction Site Shootout” and two combat missions, “Honor Amongst Thieves” and “Friendly Fire.” Additionally, there are six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. The premium pass unlocks an extra horde mode mission and an exclusive cosmetics pack.

Video game pricing remains a heated industry topic, especially after Nintendo’s $80 price for Mario Kart World and Microsoft’s planned $80 pricing starting this holiday season. Other studios, like Gearbox with Borderlands 4, are also caught in pricing debates following remarks from Randy Pitchford. Meanwhile, mid-range titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and 2K’s upcoming Mafia: The Old Country have thrived at $50. MindsEye positions itself as a middle ground.

Looking beyond launch, Build A Rocket Boy promised a “steady flow” of premium content each month, ensuring MindsEye remains a dynamic, evolving experience. This includes new missions, challenges, and assets. “Blending studio-crafted content with the community’s stunning creations, MindsEye will captivate players for years,” the studio noted.

The 2025 content roadmap includes community updates and new missions in the summer, new single-player and multiplayer modes plus missions in the fall, and free roam updates with additional missions in the winter. Premium pass holders will receive extra missions and exclusive packs throughout the year.
