Minecraft 2 “Basically Announced” By Original Creator

在后续帖子中，Notch确认了他“对所有这些都非常认真”，并表示他“基本上宣布了我的世界2”。他认为玩家们确实希望他制作另一款类似《我的世界》的游戏，并且他很享受再次投入自己热爱的创作中。“我并不特别在意我首先制作哪款游戏（甚至是否制作更多游戏），但我确实知道我正在制作一款游戏，所以我认为我绝对愿意以我的世界精神续作的形式认真尝试一下，并为此进行投票，”他补充道。
然而，目前的《我的世界》IP及其开发商Mojang早在2014年就被微软收购。因此，Notch在未经微软授权的情况下，无法使用任何与该IP相关的元素。尽管如此，他保证如果他专注于《我的世界》精神续作，他打算以一种不会“偷偷侵犯Mojang团队的出色工作以及微软正在成功进行的微软式改动”的方式进行，因为他尊重他们的工作。Mojang似乎也在创意自由方面保持领先地位，微软让工作室继续发挥其长处。
