Monster Hunter Wilds: Guide to Using and Muting Voice Chat

May 24,25

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, engaging in voice chat is optional but can enhance your multiplayer experience. If you choose to use the in-game voice chat rather than external platforms like Discord, understanding how to set it up is essential.

How to Use and Mute Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds Voice Chat Settings

To access the voice chat settings, navigate to the audio section within the game's options menu. This can be done either in-game or from the main menu screen. Look for the tab that's third from the right and scroll down to find the Voice Chat settings. Here, you have three options: enable, disable, and push-to-talk. Choosing 'enable' keeps the voice chat on at all times, 'disable' turns it off completely, and 'push-to-talk' allows you to activate voice chat by pressing a designated key on your keyboard. Note that push-to-talk is only available for keyboard users.

Additionally, you can adjust the voice chat volume to your preference, controlling how loud the in-game conversations are for you. Another useful feature is the voice chat auto-toggle, which can be set to automatically prioritize the voice of quest members, link party members, or to not switch automatically. Quest members are those you're currently on a mission with, making this setting ideal for most players. Link members, on the other hand, are those in your link party, which is beneficial when guiding someone through the story and waiting during cutscenes.

While *Monster Hunter Wilds* offers in-game voice chat, the audio quality may not match that of dedicated apps. For the best experience, especially during cross-platform play, using external communication tools is recommended. However, having the in-game option available adds convenience and flexibility to your gaming sessions.
