First Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Gameplay Looks Straight Out of Terminator 2, and There's a Surprise Kameo DLC Character Coming Too

Feb 28,25

NetherRealm Studios unveils thrilling gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1's upcoming DLC: the T-1000 and Madam Bo.

The T-1000, voiced and portrayed by Robert Patrick, showcases devastating attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2. His abilities, including morphing into liquid metal and delivering powerful blows, draw comparisons to Baraka, Kabal, and even Glacius from Killer Instinct. A highlight is a brutal Fatality re-enacting the iconic truck chase scene from Terminator 2, culminating in a lead-filled demise for Johnny Cage.

Adding to the excitement, Madam Bo, a fan-favorite character from the base game's storyline, joins the roster as a Kameo fighter. Brief glimpses in the teaser showcase her assistance abilities alongside the T-1000.

The T-1000 becomes available on March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo launches simultaneously on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.

The T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC character additions, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Speculation about a potential Kombat Pack 3 persists, fueled by the franchise's continued success and Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat brand. David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, confirmed the company's intention to prioritize only four game titles, with Mortal Kombat being one of them.

Madam Bo joins the Mortal Kombat 1 fray as a Kameo fighter.

Ed Boon, NetherRealm's creative director, previously stated that their next project was decided three years prior, while assuring continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. Although an Injustice sequel is widely anticipated, neither NetherRealm nor Warner Bros. has officially confirmed it. Boon cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 as factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title before returning to the Injustice franchise. However, he explicitly stated that the Injustice series is not closed off.
