Square Enix Announced NieR 15th Anniversary Special Novel

Square Enix marked NieR's 15th Anniversary with a range of announcements, showcasing upcoming events and projects. During the livestream on April 19, they unveiled an online Special Novel titled [U]ndecided Option.

The novel will have three updates, with the first already available. The subsequent updates are scheduled for April 25 and May 2. The novel's synopsis teases an intriguing plot: "Such a 'servant' meets a mysterious boy with a mysterious air and is guided."

To complement this, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, serving as the main hub for the online novel and other related projects and events planned for the celebration.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork featuring protagonists from Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation. Details on tickets and other information will be shared soon.

Further enriching the celebration, additional dates for the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 have been announced in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are available through a lottery system, with more details on the concert's official website.

NieR Re[in]carnation, the first mobile title in the series, will feature a new developer blog starting April 28. Monthly updates will be released throughout the year, offering insights into the development process of Re[in]carnation.

Originally launched in January 2021 and discontinued in April 2024 due to monetization issues, the game's developer blog has sparked curiosity among fans. Speculation about a potential sequel or remake is rife, although no official announcements have been made.
