Ninja Gaiden Franchise Revival: Announcement and Remaster

Developer_Direct showcased more than just DOOM: The Dark Ages; the highly anticipated Ninja Gaiden 4 also stole the spotlight. Scheduled for an autumn 2025 release, this latest installment in Koei Tecmo's acclaimed series promises a thrilling return to action.

The reveal trailer highlighted the signature fast-paced, brutal combat featuring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative gameplay mechanics, including swift traversal using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay footage.

The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk metropolis perpetually shrouded in toxic rain. Players will battle waves of genetically-modified soldiers and nightmarish creatures in a desperate attempt to break an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.

Furthermore, the presentation included news of a significant remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2, already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and included in the Game Pass library. Team Ninja has meticulously rebuilt the game using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in dramatically improved character models, visual effects, and environments. The remaster also incorporates elements from later games in the franchise, notably adding three extra playable characters.

Koei Tecmo's extensive efforts on both Ninja Gaiden 4 and the Ninja Gaiden 2 remaster are undeniably deserving of widespread acclaim.
