Nintendo has officially announced the pricing for upgrading two popular Switch games to their Switch 2 Editions, namely Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree. However, these upgrades come at a premium, significantly higher than previous upgrades.

For instance, upgrading The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from their original Switch versions to the Switch 2 Edition costs $9.99 each. In contrast, NintendoLife reported that the upgrades for Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree are more than double that price per game.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integration with the new "Zelda Notes" service in the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements by purchasing an "upgrade pack" for $10.

The Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land introduces new story content in the Star-Crossed World. Meanwhile, Super Mario Party Jamboree's Switch 2 Edition includes a new suite of content called Jamboree TV, which utilizes the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, the Switch 2 microphone, and the Switch 2 USB-C camera (sold separately). These editions also feature upgraded resolutions up to 1440p in TV mode, improved frame rates, new minigames, and enhanced online functions.

While U.S. prices on the American Nintendo eShop are yet to be confirmed—potentially due to uncertainties related to President Trump's tariffs—the UK Nintendo eShop lists the Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade pack at £16.99 / €19.99, significantly higher than the £7.99 / €9.99 cost for upgrading Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

The Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV upgrade is priced similarly, suggesting a U.S. price of $19.99. This steep upgrade fee may be influenced by the $80 price tag of the full Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World and Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, both of which are $20 more expensive than their original Switch versions, priced at $59.99 each.

For those not opting for the upgrade, here are the U.S. prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games:

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The demand was predictably high, leading Nintendo to issue a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered via the My Nintendo Store, stating that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
