Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary is just around the corner, and it's set to be a blast! The festivities will begin on Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and continue until Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. Get ready for exciting new Pokémon debuts, event bonuses, and fantastic opportunities in raids and trades.

Here’s What’s In Store!

To kick things off, you'll encounter new Pokémon sporting themed costumes. Keep an eye out for Grimer and Muk donning party hats. If luck is on your side, you might even come across a Shiny Grimer! Plus, Meltan is making a shiny return if you use the Mystery Box during the event.

During Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary, your chances of becoming Lucky Friends and obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trades will be boosted. Friendship levels will increase more rapidly than usual when you open Gifts, trade Pokémon, or battle together. You might also discover 8 or even 88 Gimmighoul Coins when you spin a PokéStop equipped with a Golden Lure Module.

Special bonuses are scattered throughout the event. From June 28th to 29th, enjoy half the Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are in Incubators. From June 30th to July 1st, earn double XP for catching Pokémon. And from July 2nd to July 3rd, receive double Stardust for your catches.

The excitement extends to one-star raids, where festively dressed Pokémon will have an increased chance of being shiny. Event-themed field research tasks will lead to encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and more. Additionally, you'll earn Mega Energy rewards for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.

There are also other events like Timed Research tasks and Whispers in the Woods Masterwork Research available for a small fee. You can find the complete list of paid events on the official website.
