To compensate, developers are giving away 1,000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu while they rework the trading system. This follows player complaints about trading restrictions, such as rarity limitations and the need for Trade Tokens—a currency required for card swaps. The developers acknowledged plans to ease trading currency acquisition and address these concerns.

Reworking Trading

The initial design choices regarding trading seem questionable. A completely open system or no trading at all might have avoided the current controversy. While botting and exploitation are valid concerns, stricter limitations likely wouldn't have deterred determined players.

The upcoming trading rework is crucial. A well-implemented digital trading system could significantly enhance Pokémon TCG Pocket's appeal as a viable alternative to the physical card game.
