Pokémon TCG Pocket finally tackles trading in new update, but it\'s not coming until autumn
Pokémon TCG Pocket is undergoing significant changes to its trading system, addressing player concerns about accessibility and restrictions. The update removes Trade Tokens entirely, replacing them with Shinedust. Shinedust is earned by opening booster packs and receiving duplicate cards already registered in your Card Dex. Existing Trade Tokens will be automatically converted to Shinedust.
Further changes are planned, including adjustments to Shinedust usage and the introduction of an in-game sharing feature to facilitate trades. This feature will allow players to easily indicate which cards they are willing to trade.
The initial trading system was criticized for its reliance on hard-to-obtain currency and restrictive trading limitations. These limitations are inherent to a digital trading card game environment to prevent abuse and maintain a fair playing field.
While these improvements are welcome, the implementation timeline extends into autumn, suggesting a slower-than-desired pace for addressing these issues.
