From Select Button to Pokémon Works

The Pokémon Company established Pokémon Works in March 2024, and its role in Pokémon Sleep's development has now been revealed. The transition from Select Button to Pokémon Works is underway, though the exact timeline and impact on the global version remain unconfirmed. The official announcement, translated from Japanese, stated that development and operation previously involved both Select Button Co., Ltd. and The Pokémon Company, Ltd. This collaborative model is now shifting.

Pokémon Works, a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., is based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, sharing proximity with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Their Representative Director, Takuya Iwasaki, highlighted past contributions to Pokémon HOME and expressed a vision of making Pokémon experiences more immersive and accessible. The specifics of their plans for Pokémon Sleep are yet to be detailed. However, their commitment to enhancing player interaction with Pokémon is clear.
