Pokémon TCG Pocket's card art has captivated players, but recently discovered details link some Pokémon to their Game Boy origins. Reddit user asch_win highlighted Spearow's card, revealing background buildings resembling Celadon City's Department Store and a fenced area reminiscent of Route 16, both from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

This intentional referencing of classic games isn't isolated. jteede uncovered further connections: a Diglett card near Vermillion City, a Haunter card by Lavender Town's tower, and more. asch_win also identified location references within Supporter cards.

Most card backgrounds depict fantastical settings unrelated to established Pokémon lore. Some cards, like a Pikachu variant, mirror real-world collectible cards. However, many hidden Easter eggs are exclusive to Pokémon TCG Pocket.

The community is actively searching for more references. Findings include the S.S. Anne on a Gyarados card and a storyline connecting Oddish, Venonat, and Bellsprout cards to Snorlax's location in FireRed and LeafGreen's seaside area.

Since its October release, Pokémon TCG Pocket has received one additional booster pack, Mythical Island, bringing the total to four. Further expansions are anticipated, with occasional new cards added through Wonder Pick Events and updates. Players are encouraged to look for more hidden references as Creatures Inc. and DeNA continue to release cards from various Pokémon generations.

Meanwhile, the current Wonder Pick event features Charmander and Squirtle, and ongoing debate surrounds the impact of pack choice on card rarity.
