YouTube personality Corey Pritchett faces serious accusations: two counts of aggravated kidnapping. The news shocked his substantial fanbase after his departure from the country following the filing of charges.

For those unfamiliar, Corey Pritchett is a US-based content creator known for his engaging online presence. His YouTube career began in 2016, featuring family vlogs, challenges, and pranks. While not a top-tier YouTuber, his "CoreySSG" channel boasts nearly 4 million subscribers, and his second channel, "CoreySSG Live," exceeds 1 million. A popular video, "LET’S HAVE A BABY PRANK," has garnered over 12 million views.

The alleged kidnapping incident occurred on November 24, 2024, in southwest Houston. According to ABC13, two women (ages 19 and 20) met Pritchett at a gym. After a day of activities (ATV riding, bowling), the situation escalated. Pritchett allegedly threatened them at gunpoint, sped away on I-10, confiscated their phones, and reportedly told them he intended to kill them. The women later revealed to authorities that Pritchett expressed anxiety, believing someone was targeting him, and mentioned accusations of arson.

Pritchett's Flight and Mocking Video

After stopping his vehicle, Pritchett allegedly allowed the women to escape. They walked for over an hour before finding help and contacting the police. Charged on December 26, 2024, with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, Pritchett had already fled to Doha, Qatar, on December 9th on a one-way ticket. He's now reportedly in Dubai, where he posted a video taunting the warrants, claiming to be "on the run" and making light of the situation. This contrasts with the serious situation facing another former streamer, Johnny Somali, who faces potential new charges in South Korea.

The future of this case remains uncertain. Whether Pritchett will return to face US authorities is unknown. The incident recalls the 2023 kidnapping of YouTuber YourFellowArab in Haiti, who, after a harrowing ordeal with a Haitian gang, was eventually released and later shared his experience.
