Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessory Collection

Sony has announced a stylish new Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring a quartet of premium accessories: the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. This collection offers a sophisticated dark aesthetic to complement the console.

The collection's pricing is as follows:

Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com, with a full launch scheduled for February 20th, 2025.

This release follows Sony's previous color variations for the DualSense controller, expanding on the popular Midnight Black, Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Galactic Purple options. The new collection's dark theme provides a sleek alternative for gamers. The DualSense Edge controller, in particular, boasts a modern design and includes a dedicated black carrying case. While the Pulse Elite headset is pricier than its predecessor ($149.99 vs. $99.99), it also includes a felt gray carrying case (shared with the earbuds).

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to release themed DualSense controllers, such as the recently announced limited-edition Helldivers 2 controller.
