PS5 Price Hike Hits Europe, Australia, and New Zealand

Sony has announced an increase in the recommended retail prices for PlayStation 5 consoles in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, citing economic pressures such as high inflation and volatile exchange rates.

The price adjustments were confirmed via a post on PlayStation Blog.

The PS5 Pro’s price remains unaffected.

Following similar price increases in 2022, the PS5 now costs significantly more in many regions compared to its launch price.

In Europe and the UK, the PS5 Digital Edition is now €100/£70 higher than its launch price (up from €400/£360). In Australia, the standard PS5 has risen by AUD $80 (from AUD $750), while the Digital Edition is up by AUD $150 (from AUD $600). In New Zealand, the standard PS5 costs NZD $130 more than at launch (from NZD $820), and the Digital Edition has increased by NZD $210 (from NZD $650).

However, the PS5 disc drive’s retail price has been reduced to €80/£70/AUD $125/NZD $140.
